Outreach/Missionaries.....
Scott, Meg, and baby Tim Rambo plan to leave in June, to serve for two years with World Gospel Missions in Uganda. Initially, they will spend time at the language school in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. From there they will move to Arua, where they will work with pastors. In the meantime, the Rambo's are busy with WGM missionary training and connecting with churches to build their necessary support relationships.
Scott Rambo is from New Jersey; Meg, from Florida. They met at Asbury College in Kentucky. While they were in college, they each went on multiple WGM mission trips. Meg was completely committed to missions. On a WGM mission trip to Uganda, God stirred Scott's heart toward using his communications and media skills for a missions organization. Later, during an internship with OMS International, God clarified His plan of full-time ministry for Scott. The two married after they graduated from college and then moved to Mississippi. Scott enrolled in Wesley Biblical Seminary and Meg taught high school math. They also helped plant the Bellwether UMC in Jackson. God used this experience to prepare them for their work in Uganda.
Their primary ministry in Uganda will be training and discipling pastors and other church leaders in Northern Uganda, Southern Sudan, and hopefully, one day, in Eastern Congo. The basic structure in place for this to occur involves multiple regional training sites. Once a month the pastors involved in the training program assemble at the training site in their area and spend the weekend learning and sharing, and then return to their church with homework for the next month. The pastors participate in this program for a two year period and can join at any point in the cycle. This discipling will also take place through the relationships that they build. Meg's desire is to provide a similar level of discipleship for the wives of the pastors who are often neglected in training, but have so much to add to the ministry of the church.
Let us pray with, and for them, and encourage and support them as they follow God's footsteps to Uganda. Follow the Rambo's by visiting http://www.scottandmegrambo.blogspot.com/.
